As we usher the month of Muharram (Muslim New Year), TAA is taking an initiative to raise funds for the poor and needy. Through this campaign, we hope to raise $80,000 via cash collections, the approved platform Giving.SG and the charity’s corporate website for the purpose of financial aid disbursement to TAA beneficiaries.
TAA will be deploying approximately 120 donation tin-bearers to collect cash donations, as well as placement of donation boxes at selected locations throughout the month.
Funds collected will be disbursed as financial assistance to more than 3,100 beneficiaries. Majority of our beneficiaries are from families whose Per Capita Income is $500 and below, and more than 70% of them are staying in 1 or 2 room HDB units. Among the beneficiaries are the frail elderly from vulnerable low-income families and those who face various health challenges and financial struggles throughout their life.
100% of the funds raised will be allocated for the TAA beneficiaries during the disbursement exercise.
